When I was around eight years old, someone told me on the school playground that in a certain level of Super Mario Bros. 3, if you knelt on top of one of the colorful platforms, Mario would fall through the scenery and you would be able to run through the entire stage’s background, emerging at the end in a secret passage. I thought they had to be lying. Back in the nineties, when YouTube playthroughs could reveal every secret in a game with a one search, playground information about video games was incredibly untrustworthy.

Wonder is a side-scrolling Mario game that you may play with up to three other people. Various characters swarm the screen to compete for scores and assist one another over obstacles as you sprint from left to right, bopping Goombas and collecting tinkling coins along the way. Mario’s signature form-shifting moves are included, such as the flower that transforms Mario and his friends into chubby little elephants that are straining out of their clothes and spouting water from their trunks. However, Wonder’s levels also deceive you with transformations. Super Mario Odyssey
